This wonderful antique brooch incorporates an 1887 British Shilling (a sterling silver coin) into a sterling silver setting. It has no visible hallmarks, but I have tested both the coin and the setting and they are guaranteed Sterling Silver (925). The coin is swivel mounted so can display either the obverse or reverse of the coin depending on your mood – do you feel like having a portrait of Queen Victoria on your brooch, or the shield motif?
Condition wise, this piece is in good working condition and does show age appropriate wear that you would expect for an antique item. Please check the images for details.
